The Georgia Youth Football Conference has been in existence since 1961. A powerhouse in youth football, GYFC has been instrumental in preparing youth athletes for high school sports, as well as many Football and Career Professionals for the adult world that they face after high school. Over the years we have had players such as Juan Daniels (UGA), Quincy Carter (NY Jets), DeDe Trotter (2004-Gold Medalist in Track & Field), just to name a few, has passed through our doors.
It is solemnly resolved by the directors and members of the Georgia Youth Football Conference that since our primary goals are: (1) providing boys an opportunity for fun and enjoyment through a football program; (2) to develop good sportsmanship and physical fitness; and (3) to teach skills and techniques of the game of football. Any attempt by a coach or league official to circumvent or violate these rules is inexcusable misconduct, resulting in suspension from conference participation.
Over the organization's 45 year tenure we have watched the conference grow too as many as 32 associations, to as few as 4 members strong. And we are still a force in youth football. GYFC has stood on the original principals and pride that were established many years ago by the founders of this great Conference. The Georgia Youth Football Conference continues to provide top-notch training and guidance to children and families in the Atlanta- Metro area. With life's ever-changing events, GYFC believes that all kids deserve a place to channel their energy and that's what we offer through youth sports.
Our current association members are:
Springfield Baptist Church Warriors
New Hope Church Team Solid Eagles
Sure, there are several organizations that provide youth football programs, but they are all leaning in the same direction. Most of these organizations are structured according to the age and/or grade level of the child. In GYFC we consider the age and weight of the child. It allows the kids to compete on a more level playing field. The scales are more balanced using this structure. However, GYFC also offers the same type of programs through our Unlimited Divisions. Many will argue the differences but what we offer is a choice. And having choices is one of the life's many pleasures that we all enjoy.
A major difference in our program is that we are structured so that you are scheduled as one group. The majority of your teams travel together as group promoting unity and team spirit. We provide a competitive football and cheerleading experience for all. This is true gridiron action, competitive cheerleading and family bonding. By stressing cooperation, sportsmanship, and commitment, GYFC consistently makes a difference in our youths' lives. Our member associations provide great instructional training and guidance to all of its participants.
